the Project
The beginning...
...Once upon a time the little Wheat Seed was born in a beautiful place in Bulgaria. His mother comes from Poland but his father from Italy. He has got a sister and a brother. The sister lives in Slovakia, his brother in Spain. A year ago the girlfriend of Wheat Seed went to live in Turkey. So, he feels very, very lonely...

Pszeniczne Ziarenko miało też brata i siostrę, którzy mieszkali w Rumunii i na Słowacji oraz swoją dziewczynę, która jednak przeniosła się do Turcji. Aims of
the project
The project aims to support the collaborative activities of more than 1300 pupils and 120 teachers to be familiarized with food(bread) culture of our European countries to make our life and environment healthier. We will write for two years a Fairy Book - Diary about the adventures of our main project hero Wheat Seed. He will be traveling from one country to another visiting his relatives to bring together the whole family.
Our six schools develop seven areas of interest:
1. Healthy food / Healthy environment
2. Table rules / Eating habits
3. Typical breads of our countries and related customs, proverbs, songs, poems, dances, recipes
4. Class and out-of-class interactive activities in Art, Craft, Music, ICT, Biology, Sciences,other basic program
5. Foreign and Native languages learning, use and communication
6. Prevention of food (bread) wasting
7. Intercultural exchange and respect to other cultures, religions and life style.
Project objectives
and strategy
The concrete objectives of the partnership are to:
- Encourage the interest of the participants in the project partnership activities in schools throughout Europe to gain and share more knowledge about the bread and food in general
- Teach children to respect the bread and not wasting food, creating their regular eating habits for a healthier life style
- Research, learn, perform and share interesting traditions and ways of making, using and eating bread and its related products
- Improve writing and creative skills of pupils, as well as their foreign language skills
- Make all collected information, traditions, poems, proverbs, recipes, songs, dances and images more lively and accessible for children by using art, craft, music, ICT, game and other approaches
- Perform the acquired knowledge, to share and exchange our experience
- Increase consumer awareness
- Encourage pupils, in particular the children in risk of social isolation to be active participants in learning and project activities
- Enhance pupils' tolerance, appreciation and respect to other cultures, religions and life style
- Improve teaching methods and enhance the quality and European dimension of teacher training.
The subjects or problems we intend to address are:
- Preventing food (bread) wasting, overeating and bad eating habits, unhealthy eating
- Lack of profound knowledge about ourselves and other cultures
- Tendency of lowering of pupils' motivation for learning
- Existing risk of social isolation of children with learning difficulties, from the minorities, emigrants, those who come from divorced families
- Need of using more interactive and creative approaches in educational process
- Low consumer awareness
- Poor foreign languages skills
- Need of international cooperation and exchange of experience.
The main subject we intend to address is to be familiarized with our regional and European food (bread) cultures in order to make our life and environment healthier.
